PC Matic Analysis

Purpose: FINDFAST.EXE - Constantly scans the disk and generates an index file that allows faster searching for documents within Office 95/97. This causes resource problems and can prevent Disk Defragmenter from running. Remove the Find Fast icon from the Start | Programs | Startup folder. To clean up the other parts Find Fast leaves behind, see Microsoft support article Q135476.

findfast.exe uses excessive system and memory resources with no corresponding benefit. Applications such as these should be disabled to improve overall system performance.
