Purpose: PortAOL.exe - Installed as part of AOL 9.0. Manages an external hardware firewall (such as the ones from Netgear, Belkin, Linksys, or D-Link) if one is present. If you don't have an external firewall, PortMagic is not doing anything useful and should be stopped to save resources. If you prefer to manage the firewall yourself--usually through some sort of web-based interface--PortMagic can be stopped.

portaol.exe is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations. No action required.
