Purpose: ViewpointService.exe is software that distributes advertising by the use of a toolbar, a media player, and a Viewpoint manager. Because it's sometimes installed along with other software many users are unaware it is there. When alerted by their firewall that Viewpoint is accessing the internet users have a legitimate concern. A more obvious optional install on the part of Viewpoint would reduce user distress.

viewpointservice.exe uses excessive system and memory resources with no corresponding benefit. Applications such as these should be disabled to improve overall system performance.
