PC Matic Analysis

Purpose: WCMDMGR.EXE - Distributed with WildTangent games, this program is an "updater" that phones home for updates. There is some controversy as to whether it also sends other data back as well. To disable the phone-home ability, disable WCMDMGR using MSConfig Startup. Supposedly there is also a WildTangent Control Panel applet that has an Automatic Updates tab that lets you disable phone-home. To uninstall the Wildtangent games totally, follow the information in the WildTangent FAQ.

wcmdmgr.exe uses excessive system and memory resources with no corresponding benefit. Applications such as these should be disabled to improve overall system performance.
