Purpose: Apple Mobile Device Helper. Task which springs up when you plug in an Apple device (iPod Touch, Apple TV, iPhone) and use it with iTunes. We are not yet sure as to the exact role of this task. although we do not yet know the exact role of this task, what we do know is that it will only spring up on the Tasks tab of TUT when you actually plug in one of the Apple devices mentioned above, in other words "it runs only when needed".

distnoted.exe is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations. No action required.
