Win Patrol

MsgPlus.exe - An add-in for MSN Messenger. If you accept the "optional sponsor package" during installation it will also install the dreaded LOP.COM parasite that displays advertising and monitors aspects of your online activity. To remove LOP.COM you must uninstall Messenger Plus, reboot, and then (optionally) reinstall the application indicating you don't want the sponsor package. Some users have reported that it still installs spyware when you decline the sponsor package.

msgplus.exe  uses excessive system and memory resources with no corresponding benefit. Applications such as these should be disabled to improve overall system performance.

PC Pitstop recommends WinPatrol Plus for monitoring all of the background activity on your PC. WinPatrol Plus provides an easy to understand descriptions of over 15,000 processes and programs.

Important Note

A file name alone may not be enough for positive identification. PC Pitstop's Overdrive tests and spyware scan use information such as the company name, product name, or install directory.

If you are unable to identify a file, ask about it in our forums after running our full tests.
