About Browser Cache Size

Generally, cache sizes above 100 megabytes waste disk space and can actually cause slower performance. Cache sizes below 10 megabytes may not provide enough temporary storage for the browser, and can cause low performance because of increased network activity.

Solutions

  1. Start Internet Explorer
  2. Select Tools | Internet Options | General
  3. Under Temporary Internet Files (or under Browsing history for IE 7) click the Settings button.
  4. In the box for the amount of disk space to use, enter a value between 10 and 100 megabytes.
  5. Click OK to accept the changes.
