I'm in college and take online courses and hardly have any trouble, but every once in awhile it will shut off, or I have touble to shut it down. I have taken it the Geek Squad and they have successfully get it back running agian. It would be nice if this program works as it is advertized, I might just keep this and close off my programs of spyware, and other worms, etc. I have to subscribe to yearly. |

| 7/16/2009 9:28:56 AM | Have done a clean reinstall, but still hangs. I haven't finished loading all programs yet. Have an icon on taskbar - MSSQL server is crook/sick/dead. Cant seem to delete or fix it. Have good virus protection, so it's not that. Thanks p.s., i'm a lot older than you but I started out on an NEC APCIII running MS DOS 2.5, long before Windows :) |

| 11/19/2011 11:04:19 PM | Have been using computers since MS DOS 2.1 on an apc III computer with "benchmark" word processing (not around now) and Interactive Applications Accounting package (also not available now.) After this setup, I have had two cpu's specially built, then this one ACER - an "off-the-peg" one. Nothing but trouble. This lot of trouble started when I could not upgrade AVG Internet Security to Version 12 from Ver 9. Then tried Kapersky (trial)- slowed everything down and intermittent 'hanging", same with Avast, now with bit defender. Computer just hangs. have supposedly deleted all other security programs. no doubt there are registry entries which remain, but I can't get into my other programs on an external drive (which I haven't reinstalled to this time)- everything just hangs. can't even shut down properly. Just have to turn the whole lot off at the power point on the wall. You ask what year I was born - I am old enough to be your grandmother, but I have quite an amount of compter experience probably going back to your childhood at least. |
