2/5/2010 2:39:22 PM original self built in july 2008 with Gigabyte P35 mobo intel Q6600 quad Go Stepping AT 2600 HD LG blu ray/hddvd drive and 20 x writer but only original IDE 500 GB HDD ( but still very quick) Upgrades in 2009 ATI HD4870, 4 gb ram 5300 duel channel overclock mild to 2.8Ghz and win 7 64 bit Considering core i5 750 but wondering about the lack of hypertreading and need a good Gigabyte board

3/11/2010 10:24:56 PM The Intel ich8r faid failed within a few weeks wiping out my raid 5, it had made 2 of the disks unusable, meaining that the raid utility saw them as "non-raid" volumes. Intel seemed to know the perpensity of the raids to have glitches. Hard lesson learned: No more on board raid for me ever again!

7/8/2009 7:32:28 PM Computer is fast and responsive, but it takes forever to boot into windows since I ran all the updates from vista ultimate 32-bit. Before would take 35-45 seconds to boot. Now almost 3 minutes.
