The HP Pavilion a1630n desktop common configuration includes a 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual-core processor, a 250 GB Serial ATA hard drive, 2 GB of RAM (which can be bumped up to 4 GB), an integrated Nvidia GeForce 6150 video/graphics card with up to 256 MB of shared video RAM, a wide variety of connection ports on both the front and rear of the box, a 9-in-1 memory card reader. Other features include a dual-layer, multi-format DVD/CD burner, which enables you to store up to 8.5 GB of data on a DL disc and provides a super-fast 16x DVD+R/-R write speed.

I am about to begin processing digital movie data on it with applicable software, and storing and keeping periodic back-ups on an external storage device (or two) using two added eSATA ports. |

| 1/3/2010 9:49:51 AM | Just recently I purchased a new Program - MyWebAchhive - and when I try to enter the key code I get and Error message - MyWebArchive installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media, etc. etc. I Know the program and key code are all good because it all worked fine in my new laptop with windows 7. However that is not my work PC. I need to program to work on this XP computer. |

I use AVG 8.0 and clean it when I manage to boot up in safe mode but then when reboot to try to start normal again it goes back to the same thing....sometimes just the wallpaper (no icons, no taskbar, no taskmanager when one uses Cntrl+Alt+Del), other times I get my normal desktop but super imposed is a WARNING! Your PC Has been Infected blah blah blah and automatically starts running a screen that appears to be a virus checker and won't let me do anything ... only option before freezes is to hit that I want to protect my computer and a purchase screen comes up! |

HP did not do a very good job administratively. Their customer support was terrible. Consequently, I probably will not buy another HP PC. |

Now however, its products seem to have one problem after another that you just keep struggling to fix, as trying to get help is a futile task... chatting with Babu Lal in Bangalore... who keeps sending you links to the endless "help yourself" pages of information at the HP website. And the more people you chat with trying to solve one problem, the more messed up things become, creating even more problems. |
