The Dell MXG061 is also known as Dell XPS M1710. The M1710 has a 17" widescreen and comes in a choice of two colors, "formula red" or "metallic black". On the inside it houses the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up to 4GB of RAM and the nVidia Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512MB of memory. Other features include a 100GB capacity at a speed of 7200 RPM, 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW/+R) with Dual-Layer, an Intel 3945 wireless card (802.11b/g) , a 9-cell lithium ion recharegable battery , 5-in-1 Memory Card Reader, DVI-D, VGA video output, S-Video, IEEE 1394 (Firewire), 6 USB 2.0, Express Card slot, Modem, Ethernet/LAN, Microphone in, Headphone out and an integrated Subwoofer.

| 4/13/2011 5:42:42 AM | I'm very disappointed since I had it specially built to be able to run Adobe CS4 Premium Design Suite and Lightroom 2 for my photography and back in March of 2007 it cost me $3,500.00 for Dell to build the laptop that could take the quantitiy of work and software I needed. I explained it all to them about what I do, but it was awful...Photoshop ran so slowly and since I take photos in RAW format the hard drive filled up so fast that I had to remove both of the Adobe photo editing/graphic design software programs, and transfer all the photos to a desktop and an external hard drive then delete them all just to be able to get this to run at a fairly decent speed. I barely used it at all except for two business trips and now I watch movies on DVD with it in my bedroom...I started to type in Microsoft Word and two of the keys fell off, the J key and the Caps Lock key!!!! I will NEVER EVER buy another DELL product ever again....and of course the keys broke off right after my warranty expired of course of course! They want way to much for me to have it fixed...but at the price I paid for it 4 years ago, It was a total RIP OFF because now all I can use it for is to watch DVD's it wont connect to the internet on my wireless home network, I have to use a Verizon Wireless wireless USB drive and pay a lot every month for Verizon's service when I have Comcast wireless in every room in my house. So YES I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the machine for the price I paid and the utter LACK of customer service and technical assistance. They wanted me to pay $79.99 just to talk to technical support on the phone to explain what was going on with the constant error messages and freakish stuff it is doing. That's why I bought the CA Pc Tune-Up 2.0 from Comp USA to try and fix it myself and use a wireless keyboard and usb to type with instead of the actual laptop broken keyboard. As I stated, I'm a grown woman who takes very good care of my belongings...no little children or teen-agers around to mess with it...so it should have lasted far longer than it did. |
